Developing National Occupational Standards for Commissioning in the Public Sector

Consultation Survey

Government Skills is currently leading a project to develop National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Commissioning in the Public Sector. Between October 2009 and January 2010, research was conducted across the UK, including a series of workshops and meetings with commissioning practitioners. The aim was to define the various commissioning functions in the public sector. As a result, a number of existing NOS have been identified and discussed. In addition, a number of new NOS have been drafted to cover commissioning across the public sector. It is these draft NOS that we are consulting on through the on-line survey.

In order to ensure that the draft NOS are fit for purpose, it is vital that we obtain feedback from a wide range of commissioning practitioners in the public sector as well as other stakeholders. Therefore, we encourage you to give us your views by completing this on-line survey.

Please feel free to pass the details of this survey to any colleagues or networks which would have an interest in this important project.

This survey is anonymous and no personal information will be transmitted when you fill in the form.

This survey will close at 5:00pm on Friday 24 February 2012.

Thank you for taking time to contribute to this consultation.

  • describe the required standards of performance, knowledge and understanding expected in the workplace
  • be applicable across the UK

Each NOS is available to download alongside the relevant question.
